Yesterday’s photo is the last in a series, showing Maxine jumping over the fence from our dustin onto the dustbin of our neighbours in the west. So the answer is b). I have noticed several times, particularly at dusk or at night that her tortie colouring provides the best camouflage, much better than Jaspar’s black and even more convincing than Mrs. Peel’s dark tabby. So if you really could see that dark tip of her tail, dear Karl-Theodor, then a double bravo!!

In comparision to the rest of the team, there are not many issues and photos of Maxine. Over the last two years – or since she brought Jaspar home with her – Maxine has become a permanent fixture of the front yard. She has various favourite places, regularaly sleeps in her hut and seems to feel so secure that I sometimes worry because she is rather too brave where our cars are concerned.

Das gestrige Foto ist das letzte in einer Serie, die ich von Maxine aufgenommen habe, als sie von unserer Mülltonne über den Zaun auf die gegenüberliegende Mülltonne unserer Nachbarn im Westen springt. Die richtige Antwort lautet daher b). Mir ist schon öfter aufgefallen, besonders in der Dämmerung oder nachts, dass ihre Schildpattfärbung die beste Tarnung überhaupt ist, viel besser als Jaspars Schwarz und auch noch überzeugender als Mrs. Peels dunkles Tabby-Fell. Wenn du, lieber Karl-Theodor, tatsächlich ihre dunkle Schwanzspitze gesehen hast, dann ein doppelts Bravo!

Im Vergleich zu den anderen Teammitgliedern gibt nicht viele Ausgaben und Fotos mit Maxine. In den letzten beiden Jahren – oder seit sie Jaspar mitgebracht hat – ist Maxine ständig im vorderen Garten anzutreffen. Sie hat zahlreiche Lieblingsplätze, schläft regelmäßig in ihrer Hütte und scheint sich so sicher zu fühlen, dass ich mir manchmal Sorgen mache, denn sie ist geradezu beängstigend mutig was unsere Autos anbelangt.
