Have you got 1 minute and 12 seconds? This is not a proper riddle, I am rather asking for your assistance. In the hope that you can play it, I have taped a sound bite for you of the spring bird concerto that I can currently listen to every morning. As you know the birds are super busy this time of year, fighting for territory, attracting females or feeding their little ones.

Even though I may have become quite good in spotting birds and telling them apart visually, I am totally hopeless when I am tasked to distinguish them by their songs. So my question today is:

  • Can you identify ANY of the birds in that sound bite?

I am sorry that the Europeans will have an advantage here, but who knows? What I can guarantee though is that you will not hear the bird in the picture which is probably Odin (or his mate Freya), one of our resident crows.

Have fun and stay safe!
