She is out and about again but yesterday a visit to the vet was called for. Why? Remember 2014, when we had three occurences of gras stuck in Isfrid’s and Ice-B’s throat? After one year without any incident, the vet removed no less than five smaller pieces of gras that got stuck to her palate, velum and right into her nose. To remove this „meadow“, she had to be sedated of course. Marvi recently had the same problem but was able to get rid of the obstruction herself. We probably should to take a closer look at the grasses in our garden. I am seriously contemplating removing all the grasses around the „pond“ and replace them with something safe – but what is safe?

Sie ist schon wieder unterwegs, aber gestern war mal wieder ein Tierarztbesuch angesagt. Warum? Erinnert ihr euch noch an 2014, wo es gleich dreimal quer sitzende Grashalme in den Rachen von Isfrid und dem Eisbären gab? Ein Jahr hatten wir Ruhe. Gestern wurden bei Isfrid nicht weniger als fünf kleine Grasstücke entfernt, die sich am hinteren Gaumen, dem Gaumensegel und in der Nase festgesetzt hatten. Um diese „Wiese“ zu entfernen, musste sie natürlich in Narkose gelegt werden. Marvi hatte kürzlich das gleiche Problem, konnte den/die Fremdkörper aber selbst loswerden. Wir sollten die Gräser in unserem Garten doch einmal genauer unter die Lupe nehmen. Ich überlege ernsthaft, ob ich nicht alle Gräser am Teich entferne und durch etwas Sicheres ersetze – doch was ist sicher?
